My dad and I are rebuilding a '48 Willys cj3a, and we're looking to put a set of High-Tec Retreading MT'a on the original rims, but I can't find a dealer.  Any help?

well, they were rated well by the magazine, and this jeep will be driven less than 100 miles a year, so I'm not too worried abot extended life.  My dad likes "the look" and I'm looking for cheap, so.... anyone have a clue where to buy them?

i would go with the firestone military ndt from coker tire. (600-16)or (700-15) wich would have been the stock tire on the cj2a. the 16" are $87 for 4 ply $90 for 6ply and the 15" are $100. not a bad price for o.e. tires. recaps you might not get the same casings for all 4 tires. one might be a bfg, goodyear, kumho, cooper, firestone. you dont know what you might get. go with the old skool look if its staying stock.

Tractor-trailers have been running them for years, they are pretty safe. The only reasons they blow is from people over loading them, not checking the tire pressure, driving to fast with a heavy load, and/or driving to fast on rough road with a heavy load. Thats why you sometimes see peices of tread on the side of the road.
