Well! CPS is not the problem?(I think).
Replaced CPS, didn't fix the problem, also changed the MAP, still no change!.
If i unplug the MAP vacuum line and the IAC plug, I can get the jeep to start,(after many many cranks), its starts with a slow sluggish chugging, and lot more cranking, and occasional soft popping every now and then!., then starts to run rough though!,idles high till I connect back the IAC, and if Plug the vac line back to the MAP, it slowly dies out?. If I try to give it gas too quickly it chokes! go slow on gas revs nicer!, left to idle(no MAP vac connected)idles relatively OK?.connect vac to MAP just want's to die out!.
Any help!? 1989 Cherokee lerado @180.000+ miles
Just tried new rotter and cables, "nope!" no def!.
the guys at the parts store are trying to sell me some LUCAS injector cleaner(goes in tank),they say I might have clogged Fuel injectors!. Do you think this would be a waist of money?. Personally I think it cant help me "right now" with the engine not running well!, if at all!.
NOTE: I am low on cash so I've been trying a part, and if it doesn't make any deference, I'll take it back and try something else!. YES ITS OK WITH THE STORE! their the ones who said too. I'm thinking it could be a combo of things?. But nothing seems to change if I swap out any of the parts!

If it has alot of miles i would take off the timing cover and see if it skipted a tooth

well then you need to replave it its pretty easy to do if it did skip a tooth then that why it runs bad the valves are not timed right

What do you mean by "Skipped" a tooth?. You mean "broken!"
Not sure I follow what you mean.

as the timing chain get more and more miles on it it starts to strach and if it get lose enough it can skip a tooth there are 2 dots one on each gear(cam and drive gear) take the cover off and rotate the motor with a pray bar untale the dotes line up and if they dont then it skiped a tooth and the timing is off

Is the popping through the intake? If so, then that mean's she's running lean. A plugged injector, bad vacuum leak or the timing chain skipped. If the timing chain skipped, the cam is now retarded compared to the crank. Exhaust gasses from the exhaust stroke enters the intake because the intake valve is still open and it shouldn't be. If it pops through the exhaust, she's rich.. injector stuck open.
I'd check all your vacuum hoses and check all your bolts for ther intake/exhaust before doing anything more!!!
High idle usually represents a vacuum leak.
Spray down your throttle body gasket and intake gasket w/ penetrating oil and let absorb.... while the engine is COLD!!! The oil may swell the gasket sealing the leak and lets your engine run better... for the time being. Do one at a time so you know where your problem is.
