I just change my tires to a set gumbo monster mudder 38.5 x 15lt, i have the 2.73 ratio, and want to know what ratio it would be better, the 4.10 or 4.56.

Would appreciate the help.

You left out some important pieces of information. Auto or manual? I6 or V8? Rear AMC Model 20? Front Dana 30? Neither is up to the task of 38's. Which t-case? What year CJ7?

I doubt you have 2.73 gears now, proably 3.73. Regardless, you'd want at least 4.88's which is the lowest you can get for a Dana 30 and AMC 20, but still not low enough for 38's. Hopefully you have swapped in some bigger axles, cause your stock axles are not worth spending money on. They will just break with 38's.

it's a v6 manual, with rear amc 20 and dana 30 in front. the year is 1983, and for real it has a 2.73 ratio.
i found a a J10 4.10 ratios do you think they can work for my cj7?
