This is turning out to be impossible to find anywhere. Mine busted (while helpful friend was assisting in hydraulic assist for steering project). Now cruise, horn, and airbag don't work. Yes, beer was involved.
I'm coming up on annual safety inspection. Been to local Jeep dealer and this item is back ordered nationwide (117 of them at last count) with no idea of when they will come back in stock. Probably one of Chrysler's suppliers that are in a whole just like Chrysler. I have tried every parts supplier in town and on the web and all of our junkyards for this part. No bueno.
Nevertheless, I am looking for this 'clock spring' as it's called. There are two version of it for that year and model. One with cruise and one without. I have no idea whether adjacent years are compatible or not (eg, 00, 01, 03 ...). If anyone has that info, I'd appreciate that too.
There are no stupid questions but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots.

Hey man, correct me if I am wrong, but the clock spring is actually located in the steering column correct. I can help with my 2 cents, maybe. Try the website
www.car-part.com
You can search the entire United States. I did a search using steering colum (that's the next higher assembly) and came up with quite a few. I used Auto with tilt wheel, there are other search options as you will see. Another way is to use "steering wheel" for the search. Anyway, best of luck.

I'm looking for a clock spring for my '99 TJ with cruise, too. We've looked everywhere. Did you ever find a supplier?
