I have a '90 XJ that has what I think is a bad bearing (low drone sound). I am trying to figure the best option. I have an '89 XJ that I am parting out for the repairs, but the '90 has ABS brakes. Here are the options as I see it....
1. Repair the existing rear 2. Replace the rear with the one from the '89 and either disable the ABS or retrofit the ABS (if possible). Can I do either? 3. Replace with "better axle". What would be a good fit without alot of headache?
I don't have a ton of experience with swapping a rear, but I can work thru it. I also have a pretty good salvage yard for upgrades.
The Jeep is stock now, but I have a 4.5 lift in the wings after I get it mechanically sound.
Any advise??

if you wheel your jeep i wouldnt even mess with keeping the abs, you dont want your brakes to pulse on a steep slick hill

Any articles or tips on getting rid of the ABS? That is actually my prefered route to go. If this is the case, should I swap the other Dana for the '89?
