Megasquirt for chevy 350 going into a CJ-7

Has anyone ever worked with the Megasquirt system when doing a Chevy engine swap into a CJ? I'm thinking of putting a Corvette TPI on top of my Chevy 350 and was wondering how easy or hard using this engine control system would be. Will the factory gauges work with it? Is it easy to program? Etc. Thanks for the input

I can only think of one good reason to use a TPI intake system. It looks cool.
There are lots of reasons to not use it for a Jeep conversion. A TPI intake is tuned to produce power in the upper rpm ranges. They used batch injection as opposed to sequential injection. Most had a mass air flow sensor that is not very vibration tolerant, and is expensive to replace. The intake ducting, since it comes off the front of the manifold, can be cumbersome and often interferes with good cooling system design. Most TPI/Jeep conversions suffer from over-heating issues.
Most of the power gains that were achieved for a TPI motor back in the day, and they weren't great power producers, had more to do with using a roller cam as opposed to the intake runner system.
Power doesn't come from the intake manifold or the exhaust manifold. The manifolds tune the engine's power. If you want to build power, look at your heads and cam profile first. Then match those characteristics with the proper intake and exhaust that is tuned to produce power in the rpm ranges that will be most useful to your application.
If you want fuel injection on your carb'd motor, look at Holley's Projection, Howell, or Edelbrock. And remember, fuel injection is nice and has great benefits. But, "power producing" is about an entire engine build plan. Fuel injection by itself doesn't build power.

I have Megasquirt on my turbocharged Toyota engine (yes, I said Toyota ). I used it in place of my factory EFI because I had changed so many factors on the engine (injectors, turbo, cam, compression ratio) that the rudimentary 1986 Toyota EFI could not compensate. It took a fair bit of tuning and still doesn't run perfect when it is cold, but I am pleased with the results. I also have a friend in Albuquerque who added Megasquirt to his 258 engine and has been pleased with the results.
Thesickle08, how is your engine fueled now? Is it carbuerated? Do you not have the harness or ECU that came with the TPI, just the hard parts? Honestly if you are leaving the engine stock, I don't think that you can beat the factory components, but if you don't have them than MegaSquirt would be a more economical way to get the fuel injection working. It is fairly easy to program, but I don't think that it will interface with your gauges. If you already have electronic or mechanical gauges on the engine they should continue to work the same as before.
