First, I am brand new to the Jeep community. My love for Jeeps started 30 years ago playing with my Fisher Price Adventure Set. 2 days ago I purchased a '85 CJ7 Laredo. (I'm still smiling).
Down to business: It still has the factory suspension, and original size tires. I think the wheel is 9.5, but I'm not sure. I want a little lift, and some meaner looking tires, but I don't know where to start. I'm thinking 31s or 33s, but I want to avoid re-routing lines, and re-gearing. I would appreciate any suggestions.

you should be able to fit 30's maybe even 31's without any lift.

Wecome to the world of JustEmptyEveryPocket. Think about what you might want in the future, and go from there. I know you don't want to spend alot of money, so be sure you do it right the 1st time. Putting a small lift in, only to change it out for a bigger lift and tires will end up costing you more in the long run that just bitting the bulet and spending a little more the first time. I know. I did just that. You've waited a long time for your Jeep, now make it the Jeep of your dreams. Good luck.
