I need to change my gears, i have a 2.73 in my cj7. Do you think i can use the 4.11 of a 1978 J10, and put them on the cj7.
Would appreciate the help. This is my Email in case you have some info

What was wrong with the other thread you started?
A '78 J10 has a Dana 44 front and rear. Won't fit your Dana 30/AMC 20. But you could take both those complete axles and put them under your CJ7 for a huge improvement in strength. If you like the wide look?

ok, here's what happened, if i'm going to use the 4.56 or 4.88 gears, i have to order them on the web, and is going to cost me a lot of money, and i live in the Dominican Republic, and the shipping is expensive too. In the other hand like i said before, i found an old J10, that i think i can get both complete axles, and is going to be a lot cheaper.
I don't mind the wide look.
What do you think?

Your axles are about 56" wide and the J10 will be about 65" wide. That's about 4-1/2" for each side. You could use some high back spaced rims to bring it in a little too. But I think that could be ok as long as nobody cares about fender/tire coverage, La Policia.
