TJ door seal question

I was told 4WD do grommet style seals with a template to drill holes and they are better than the original slot-in seals. But here in UK they are not available and would have to be shipped from US.
I want to know what difference the grommet ones make and if it's worth the hassle.
All feedback will be appreciated.
