I have purchased a windshield kit from quadratec: new frame, glass, seals, et al.
No instructions came with the kit and my searches have been relatively ineffective in giving me a real warm fuzzy feeling on process. I have found one site that talks about putting the seal on the glass and mounting the glass with seal in the frame using a cord for setting the seal. Not bad, but ... Since all the selling sites advocate the use of adhesive to set the glass, in addition to the seals, I would like to have some info on what goes when and how much sealant, and what position to have the frame in, and anything else that i have not thought of.
Thanks to all, chris

call quadratec, they have a great tech line.
but i think a windshield needs sealant ( rear windows dont??). I just checked mine and it has a black rubber seal with this black goo under it.

i did call quadratec, they were without useful advice. attitude was that i should know what i am doing if i ordered the parts or i could just go to my local glass installer and they would be glad to give me free advice for not giving them my business.

Sure. I've ordered lots of things from them. A soft top, some lights, all kinds of stuff for my CJ. Now that I got a TJ they where the first place I went, to look at aftermarket products for it. Good company. Easy ordering. Fast shipping. Easy process with real people on the other end of the phone line if you need to talk with someone. windshield replacement
