I was helping a friend put on a new bumper on his 87 YJ,  we had to unbolt the two rear body mounts.  Of course a lot of rust, and one of the body mount bolts broke.  Tried drilling it out but the mount keeps moving around.  Question is,  how do you get to this body mount, it appears to be boxed in and no access.  Anybody know anything about this.

Very very common.

Ultimately you're going to have to drill a hole in the tub floor with a hole saw to gain access to the captured nut.

If you can get hold of the bolt from under the Jeep you might be able to work it out if you use lots of PB Blaster and give it enough days to work. But most of the time it will break the captured nut free and then it will just spin. That's when you go for the hole saw.

It's not as bad as it sounds. It's pretty easy to weld the plug from the hole saw back in and put a little rattle can on it. A lot of guys just leave the hole.
