thanks guys for the info about those tires and lift.  i also have heard the same complaints about the thornbirds.  i was just wanting a aggressive mud tire look and figured that i counldnt beat FREE but i wanted some opinions first.  is there any M/T that have a good aggressive look and that also perform well on normal road driving conditions?  i do need a tire more than the basic A/T tho because when i do go off road its pretty serious mud and swampy situations.

im a big fan of super swamper tsl's, ya their loud on the road but ive hadem on for 2 years and they have over half tread and i drove 27 1\2 miles to work one way for one of those years and 17 miles one way the other year. they are a little squirrely on the rain tho, but not to bad

I am not sure that there is a tire that is going to meet all of your needs, anything is going to be a compromise.  I think that the best option is to have a set of All-Terrains during the week, and then some Swampers for when you hit the trails.  If that is not an option, I would look into something like the Interco TrXus M/T or the new BFGoodrich Mud Terrain KM2 or even the new Goodyear Wrangler MT/R.

Tires???Free???What???

If the Thornbirds are free, go with them. They suck in mud compared with other M/t's, but you can't beat free.

Goodyear Wranglers are good in mud and on the highway, but you will have to sacrifice some ride quality. If your too concerned about the on road aspect, then stick with the A/T's and get some power adders so you can supplement with wheel speed!

Another good off road tire is the LTB, but their not to good on the street.

They suck when compared to what? They are good as an all around tire. But of course they suck compared to a REAL M/T.
