Awesome! Had mine on the road. Actually drives way better than I thought it would. No problem getting up to 60 mph plus. I had to add a skidplate to the tranny since it scrapes on everything. I'll have it at the Off Road Expo show in Pomona October 10-11.
Did you add some wheels spacers to the rear? I needed some 1 1/4-inchers. I want to find some different tires but the free ones I got off an old Jeepster work for now.
I like the windshield. You have glass in it yet? I had to make my own since I didn't have a good one to start with.

Ok the ROD has been around the block a few times and it's doing just fine (with a hint of rough ride)!

It's a ton of fun to drive and is actually faster than I thought it would be with just a 305.... lol but I'll keep everybody posted on how she does in the coming weeks!

yea it handles good and it'll do 60+ quicker than I want it to (gives me a rush through a mix of fear and excitement)! lol but I still haven't hit the tranny on anything so I guess I got lucky and got it just high enough off the ground, I'll keep my fingers crossed!
I actually got away without the spacers but it has touched and rubbed once or twice!
as for the windshield frame it's in terrible shape and had holes all over it.... I chopped three inches out of the bottom part when I replaced all the front sheet metal, and six out of the top glass part.... I'm worried it's to weak to hold the glass secure because it's so rusty and twisted, not to mention the fact that the original glass frame was swiss cheese!

Cool! Love the vintage school-house seats! Good idea! I actually have some. Would have saved me a ton of time had I gone that route instead of the chopped Willys truck seats.
How much did you channel (drop) the body?

not really any at all... there are not any body mounts.. it's just bolted to the frame
i think i need to build some padding into the seats she's got a pretty nasty ride with those hard wooden seats
have you looked into registering, or inspecting yours.... I'm beginning to think it's gonna be a nightmare to get mine done!!

Well, yeah, mine is too. Just like stock. But it looks like you made a new floor, at least up front. Does it locate the body same as stock or lower?
Mine is registered and insured. We don't have inspections in CA and it's pre-smog.

yea the firewall mounts, and rear half of the body mounts were in usable condition so I built the floor the same height so they would all work together.... then just laid the fence planks on top of the new frame

What did you do for the rear suspension? Lowering blocks? Notched frame?
I really had to cut a lot of frame and tub and now I have pretty much no travel in the rear. But is sits low!

she's still running good although I'm having heck getting a tittle for it but anyway..... I also haven't gotten to the idle mixture screws (quadrajet) yet... they seem to be behind a plug or something... not enough time...
body mounts (AKA rubber furniture feet), and tail pipe.
Here's the battery box I had my dad build, looks like an old amo box.... built with free wood lol With the LACK of suspension travel I need to cover the seats with some padding and maybe one of these mexican blankets I have laying around, I know it's bad when my 20 year old body takes a noticeable beating by the end of the day!!

Here is how the "C" notch went..... I decided there really wasn't THAT much weight on the back front part of the frame so it didn't need to be boxed and the reinforcement above would do, I'm right so far..... IGNORE that brake line, one size shorter was to short so I had to take up slack (plus I was ready to drive it), I'll fix it one day!!!
