dear fellas,
hey anybody know of a company that makes a (copper/brass) radiator for putting a chevy 350 in a CJ-2A? I have found some aluminum ones but I'm after a copper/brass one.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Have you checked the local radiator shop? Somtimes you can locate a copper/brass raditor at a junk yard that is the right height and then have you local raditor fellow reuse the tanks and put a custom core in it.
I had a taxi cut me off about 10 years ago in my '73 Travelall. Of coarse there wasn't a resonable priced replacement available, but I found a local shop that reused the old tanks and installed a new core for $100.

yea mud I'll have to get some pics on photobucket later today.

Yea we've turned the junk yards upside down looking for one thats even near the right size and haven't turned up anything, the only thing thats anywhere close is the radiator out of a 289 mustang that a local shop offered me. My only problem is he  (the owner of the shop) can't assure me it'll cool my 350!

I'll get some pics up later!

Ok this is what my christmas money went to this year! some college buddies and I have pitched in on this pile of rust! The project was truly put into motion before we heard about cappas but in the end it's a jeep because we knew it could be done and, as it turns out 32 fords can't be found for 300 bucks!

this is how I picked it up from Waco.

this is the 350 after we cleaned it up and just before the test run.

this is our gas tanks and battery box!

Got her rolling over winter break after only two weeks worth of work!

the next three are of the headers and the steering box!

These two are the floor supports and the wood floors!

more pics on the way!!!

oh and I think we should race cappa!

Looks pretty sweet! No point in racing me. I got a vintage inline-six.

Looks like we used a lot of the same parts. F-150 Ford 9-inch? SM420?...what steering box did you end up with? Is it a Vega box? How did you notch the rear frame? I have almost no uptravel and it seems like a channeled body may have been a better option for me. Oh and how close is your tranny to the ground? Mine seems kinda close. It'll work but I suspect it will scrape now and then on driveways.

the radiator is one of the few new parts on the hot rod from a 60's mustang (three core)... and seems to cool the 305 just fine i've run it for 20 min at a time in the driveway with no problems! But we'll see when I get her on the road

yea the ford 9" came out of a 70's ford truck along with the rims.. I still have tire clearance issues but I don't have any up travel ether (like MAYBE two inches) yea the SM456 is close to the ground (also two inches) so we'll see if I knock a hole in it . the steering box came out of a 88 comanche (non power steering). and I cut and bent on the stock pitman arm to get some quickness back from the high gearing in the box.

I'll post some pics this afternoon.... my "shock proof and water proof" camera has been broken but I got it back last week!

I have to mount a brake MS and run lines, then build a clutch linkage and she'll be ready for a ride around the block!!
