I am going to install a new head unit, speakers, and a sub in the center console. I am cheap so I am going to get whatever is on sale at Wally-World. Probably going to be the sony xplode stereo and speakers. Does any know or know of a link for putting the sub in the center console? I remember a forum with pictures and all, I just can't seem to find it again. And does anyone know what the largest size sub I can fit in the center console? I am open for comments, recommendations, suggestions, and any ideas to make this work, but look good. Thanks!
I am awesome at breaking stuff....fixing it is another story!

Not sure what size sub will fit in the center console and look good. The factory sub is a 6.5 dual voice coil 2 ohm unit mounted in a plastic enclosure that has a small amp built into it. I think it's about a 75 watt unit. Good luck and let me know how it turns out. I am needing to replace my tiny sub.

Anyone have a wire diagram for the factory subwoofer for an 04 TJ? I am finally getting around to replacing the sub.

Well I replaced the factory subwoofer today. It's pretty well documented in the previous link:
As far as the wiring goes red is a pos and black is a pos for one channel of the dual voice coil and the grey and brown are the pos and neg for the other channel. I used the red and black to tie into the sub and it sounds good. As far as a 6.5 sub powered by the factory amp can anyways. I thought about tieing the two pos and two negs together buy from the local audio shop's information that would lead to premature failure of the amp.

How did this work out for you. I have an '01 Wrangler and my factory sub is blown, thanks to a walmart mp3 player. I was thinking about replacing it but wasn't sure if it was possible.

Well I replaced the sub two months ago and it still sounds good. Sounds just as good as the factory one did, maybe a hair better. But, that might be just because I installed it. hehe
The sub replacement is pretty easy and well documented on the following link

Just remember it is a tiny amp @ 75 watts at best and it's a 6.5 sub so it will not be making any teenagers envy from the sound.
