I have a 1987 YJ with a dead ba10/5 manual tranny. I just purchased a 3 speed auto tranny out of a '95 YJ along with the NP231. I have all the main parts (I think), including the the flywheel and mounting brackets. Also, I'm pretty sure it is a lock up tranny. Does anyone know of any good posts describing how to go about doing this swap? Or has anyone done this themselves? Any help is greatly appreciated as this is my first time doing a project like this!!! Thanks!!!

This should be a very easy swap, rip out the old and toss in the new. the only issues you might have are driveshaft length and since I'm not that familiar with the '95 auto trannys in Jeep's possibly a transmisison control unit. If you still have the BA10/5 and want to get rid of it let me know, I've been looking for a shifter assembly for one of these tranny's

The TF999 (or 32RH) used in the Wranglers is not electronicly shifted, so no control unit. But some do have a lock-up torque converter, so you'll have to rig up a switch for that if you want to use it.
The big hurdle might be the TV cable to control the shifting. I think Lokar will have some pieces to make the swap easier. If the TV cable is not adjusted correctly the tranny will die an early death. Or you might find the throttle linkage pieces from the donar.
