Has anyone ever tried this tire. http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?partID=14745 Where you happy with it. I'm looking to save some a few extra dollars but sometimes you get what you pay for. Let me add that it's going to be a daily driver but I love to 4x4. I only daily drive cause I have to.

I thought about getting them myself. They have some great reviews. Most say they are closer to A/Ts than muds. I would have probably gotten them but a friend saved me about 500 on my TOYOs, so they became cheaper better option

My dad has two 31.10.50R's on the back of a 2wheel drive pickup and they'll either go or bury the back end of the truck. They dig like nobody's business. He got E rated ones and they will air up to 60psi., but they do best around 45psi. for hauling on that application. Very good tires that have worn very well and arn't that noisy at highway speeds.
Get a real jeep! (pre '75)

I ran them for 7 or 8 years on my Chevy and Yota. Great tire. Usually got about 40 to 50k out of them and I went thru a set or 2 a year....put 40 to 60k a yr on my trucks. They aren't like the old buckshots but are a good all around mudder for the money.
When you're finished....you're done

I bought a set of them last November after doing alot of checking for a new set of tires daily driver/weekend warrior XJ. So far they've been great. They have pushed through some pretty serious Michigan snow this year and not faltered. I'm also suprised at how much more grip I seem to have on really slippery roads also. In the rain they've done very well also. As far as road ride they ride very well for a "not vicious" mudder tread pattern. There a little louder than any A/T's I've run in the past but not as loud as a set of swampers. I'm glad I bought the set so far. Only problem was they had to be ordered so to play safe I ordered 5.

Wow, just posted another page same question so I just copied it. There's two buckshots, those and the "original kind". I'm an old guy so I like the real ones better. Check these out. I drove mine on the street but not to work everyday on the highway but I was Off work for a couple years and put serious street miles on. I actually like the sound (kinda loud) it's music to me.

OLD SCHOOL is the best school ... Gateway Tire - Bias ply Buckshot Mudders. Heavy, loud, rugged, ol' school & letter sizes. Far as I know, only place to get them unless you know someone at Denman Tires is OK4WD.com. 4 ply sidewalls as far as I can remember. Work good, last ok. Semi work in rain, suck in sand and loose deep mud (they dig) unless you find the bottom, awesome on east coast trails. The last set I had (the 90's) were starting to dry rot from not driving and I sold that Jeep but had P78 mounted on factory 7" rim in 5 tire rotation because I kept smoking the rears (big block) in the rain. Swear by those tires! Deep 3/4" tread. I cut the sidewalls up, tore lugs up or off and only got a flat once. I tore a sidewall and even half assed patched it with an old tire patch, 'Ice & Water' roof patch and a tube, and it held up (I know, I know) but I couldn't find them any more and kept it as the spare. Haven't seen them in years but just found out that the old style tires are being sold in limited numbers. They used to be one of the least expensive but now ...$250 for the P85 (37x10x15) P78 (33x9.5x15) is $180 if you like pizza cutters these are for real but they like to dig and will NOT float and you can't sneak home with these. No computer designed tread here just a hunk of rubber with deep angry, hungry tread. They're NOT the Maxxis Radial Buckshot Mudder , guess they bought the name. Gateway Bias ply Buckshot 'wide' Mudder

i have never had the chance to try maxxis tires...but mud terrains of ne kind aren't the best daily driver tire. I have bfg KM1s and they hate asphalt...love mud, snow and sand. I feel that ull feel the same way. To be honest its worth the money to buy a cheap set of steelies and a set of nice str8 treads....Then have ur set of mudders in the garage ready to bolt on wen ready. Thats just my opinion. take it easy goodluck!
