Hey all,

I was feeling a little lazy yesterday and decided to donate a few bucks to the local Walmart Service Department and get an oil change. While I was there they offered a fuel injection cleaning service that I took them up on also.
I had run fuel injector additive regularly in the past, (I bought my 2001 wrangler used last year with 70,000 and now I'm at 107,000) and never saw a performance change. But after their service, I had performace I've never seen. The service ran me about $20 and it basically consisted of a 2 Step Gumout brand product. I never saw them perform the service, but from reading the flyer, the first product appears to to be an aerosol product you connect to a vaccum line on the manifold and you run the engine until your out of the product. The second product of coarse is the typical fuel tank additive.
This particual system sounds and seems more effective than adding an addive to regular gas to clean injectors. I've never seen the product on the shelf before, but I would be interested in adding it to my maintance arsonal. Has any seen a similar system available over-the-counter? Or has a more effective way to clean injectors?

I've used Seafoam, which sounds like a similar product. I got it at the local autozone. The instructions say to unplug a vacuum line (in unplugged the power brake line) and let it suck it in. I also poured some straight down the throttle body. Used about 1/4-1/2 a can and poured the rest in the tank. After letting it suck it in, shut it off for 15-30 min. and fire it back up. It'll blow white smoke for awhile, that's supposed to be the carbon cleaning off the injectors and system.... Maybe it's something like that...
