1990 YJ 2.5l engine with throttle body.  Runs rough and rich wont idle have changed closed throttle switch, fuel pump, map sensor, relays. does smooth out at 3000rpm.
Any ideas?

I saw the very same thing due to heavy pitting on the valves. That can be very difficult to figure out. Start with testing fuel pressure and work to everything else making sure you have continuity through wires. If it is to no avail and your satisfied there is nothing else you can do outside of the motor I would be looking to internals. Use a leak down tester properly to find out if you are loosing compression. You put compressed air to the cylinders and measure the air loss. If you hear air through the intake then you know you have problems with the intake valves. If you get bubbles through the coolant then you have a head gasket problem. Air out the exhaust is a exhaust valve or possibly cracked head. Air down through the oil pan bad rings. Don't assume anything is good. If it's renix injection I hear it's a real pain to diagnose.
