i would like to by a air compressor for my 06 rubicon and i need some info on which would be better, the one that would mount to the jeep itself[where would i mount the ac compressor and tank?][viair hd onboard air system],or one like the viair 400p portable kit? Any pros and cons woulde be helpful,thanks.

I've got the Viair onboard air system and like it alot! I think if you put the york compressor on thats run off the engine it just moves everything around a bit so you keep the ac compressor below it.

with the portable kit you'll have to keep track of all the pieces and have a method to strap everything down.

I have a Viair 450C system (w/3 gal. air tank) mounted under my 02 TJ.  I have it tucked into the "transmission hump" and parallel to the rear driveshaft.  Seemed like it was a good place to have it and it was out of the way.  I still stand by that decision.  Been problem free and not interfered with any wheeling situation.  
There are no stupid questions but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots.
