I am planning to buy the new rough country 2.5 inch suspension lift (with the 2.2 shocks) and combine it with my existing 2 inch spacer lift. I think the shocks will be perfect because they are the same shocks the at are available with there 4 inch lift and are rated for a 2-4 inch lift. I am also planning to get the daystar 1 inch body lift. The tire I was most interested in was the 35 inch SSR series TSL.
what do you think of this suspension set up and what are the biggest tires I can run? will this set up give me the same amount of lift as a 5.5 inch full suspension lift? Do you think i will need a pitman arm or transfer case drop?

Oh and i am also planing to eventually beef up the dana 35 with some 30 spline axle and a detroit locker. How does this locker engage automatically? how is this different from a ARB or OX locker?

35's will fit nicely,
you will need front and rear, track bar relocation for 4", a sye/cv shaft
combining a t-case drop, bodylift and mml, I'd expect unsatifactory vibrations.
with the 2.5" rc lift add 2" spacer up front only (leaving out the factory rubber spacer, put it in the rear) which will level out the rake from the rc springs, combine a 1" body lift and mml, the 35's will fit in that combo with 2.5" bumpstops. and little to no need for the t-case drop. you will still need track bar relocation. for the front a nth, or jks adjustable will have ya covered.

A Slip yoke Eliminator is kind of out of the question right now. I have heard that you can get away with just a transfer case drop with a 4 inch lift on a wrangler.

on some you can "get away with it" at the expense of your t-case and rear differential.
if all you're after is 35's all ya need is a 2.5" lift and a couple extra tricks.
