Everytime i use my little compressor that plugs in the power outlet or cigarette lighter i always end up blowing the fuse. i believe they are the little 10 amps? is it possible to run a 15 or a 20 just to prevent me from changng the fuse everytime i use it?

First find out what the fuse amp is suppose to be. could be it should be larger than 10 amp. but the fuse protects the entire circuit from the wire to the socket itself. if you put a larger fuse in and the components are not large enough to handle the larger amperage you could burn something up. like the jeep.

Like stump said make sure which fuse amperage you are suppose to use. Just so you know most cigarette lighter socket air compressors I have seen or use are either 10 amps or 15 amps.

I don't know about you guys! but I have not had good luck with plug in air comps. A on board air system would be the ultimate however I cary one of those self contained units. its a Jump starter/air compressor/ emergency light and it will plug in to the cig plug and trickle charge. I think I got it from Costco for 45.00. part of the problem with those cheepy cig air comps is they have 25 feet of wire that is undersized for the air comps demand. Good luck

I have a 2004 Liberty Sport. My front cigarette lighter stopped working after using my portable air compressor. I checked all the fuses in the panel on the side of the dash and they are all good. Is there another fuse in the system somewhere that I could have blown?
