well I gotta say if yer looking for jeep parts the phoenix craigslist.com is the place to start. this weekend there was over 400 listing in the auto parts alone that had jeep in em. there was only two carriers I could find, I looked in nearly every major city in the us on craigs list and what I could find with google... and both are in phoenix..
I just scored the rubicon d44 locker carrier and two used axles for 425 bucks! it also has 4.88 ring and the pinion shaft included... one of the axles has some wear on the splines but still useable for me after I get some new bearings on em, if it's busted inside... well at least I got the part of it I need to fix mine. I also got a set of 4 never used explorer pro com es9000 shocks for 65 bucks, they were bolted on a project that never made it out of the shop...

four shocks for the price of two was a good one also I think, er 1 1/2.. hehe. the es9000 isn't really on of my shock choices but ther are much better thatn what I have... the bent up rancho 5000's

there was time to kill so I just hung out in phoenix all day saturday after breakfast with ftgiles.... just when I shoved in the bake button this afternoon, this guy returns my phone call. they were out wheeling all weekend and out of the service area.
I got a roadside parts delivery... heres a pic I snuck off of em when the deal was done and the parts were laying on my truck,
that's what mine looks like in my dreams!

another piece I'm looking at is a rockkrawler skid to replace my stock skid with, I exchanged a few e-mails with azrockcrawler on one he has, I sure wis money grew on trees cause I would'a had it to, the asking price is 200 for a well used skid, right up my alley there, I'm not sure what I'd have to do with the tranny mount to use it, maybe it will bolt right on, then I'd just need to fabricate a new mount for my nth stinger for the rear end..... any how I got em to send me a pic of his 98 tj... another well used rig, just how I like em.

Nice tj with plenty of flex and I think I said that you would have things fixed as soon as you get home.

Does that tj have limit straps and extremely long brake lines or what?

It's practically set up the same as yours, Just has longer shocks and doesn't sit as high, I imagine.

Hey mud, aren't you a little leary about buying stuff on craigslist? Some of that stuff I think would be crap.

nope not at all, especially when ya can put yer hands on it before ya buy. theres alot of things on my jeep from craigslist that were barely used, or brand new I've gotten for less than half price, otherwise it wouldn't have what it has on it. things like springs, control arms, skid plates, heck what could youpossible do to harm em you wouldn't notice by looking at it, Ok, if ya bought a used water pump or something like that, ya might be askin for trouble.... things like the locker I got can be kinda scary though It has what I need if it's scatterd inside, I checked it out, stuck the shafts in it and turned the internals and felt there's nothing to worry about, I also saw the rig the parts came from, it's an extremely meticulously built rig, he upgraded the axle shafts before he broke em then upgraded again to a 35 spline arb.
just ask lots of questions, If they don't know or are elusive on giving answers, then ya have another reason to worry, craigslist is a community based free inet add that has gone global,
not everyboidies out to get ya, there

Well I might have to look into that then. I know the wife would be happy if I could save a little money.

no doubt you will, it'll just take longer to get what ya want, some guys upgrade their entire suspension and sell the old hardly used never off road goodies just to recover a few bucks. I've seen em sit for months without selling cause everybody has a money tree and refuse to buy used parts... not me ya can find Warn winches bumpers, fender flares, body kits, gears, lockers, whew... see what I'm sayin? some things need some minor repair such as a solonoid or something, gees thats way better for a 1200 dollar winch ya could get for 500.

there was another high dollar item in phoenix I'da gota hold of If I had money.... A LONG ARM RE 5.5" lift... the askin price was/is 1000.00 thats a steal,
now the catch... the Tj had ben involved in an accident, the insurance replaced the entire system, no visible dammage to the parts..

Wow, I never woulda guessed all that would be on there. I need all of that stuff, and "used" is fine with me. As long as it works and gets the job done. I'm far from being rich or having a money tree. lol So for that stuff do the sellers ship it to you or do you have to arrange to pick it up. I might have to stick with the AK craigslist.
