Recently I went to a Jeep dealership here in Hawaii and was looking at the JK's. I noticed a lifted 4 door JK sitting in the show room. I looked at it and checked out what had been done to it. I was talking to one of the sales representative about it and I remembered about problems about the drive shafts when lifting JKs. So I asked him if they had swapped out the drive shafts with upgraded ones. What I got was a blank stare and no clue look from the representative. I had to explain to him what happens to the stock drive shafts of a JK when you lift it. Really are these dealerships this dumb and do not inform customers about what needs to be done if the Jeep was to be lifted. Also giving you all a heads up, if you take your Jeep in for work at the dealership and they do the 23 point inspection, make sure all your lug nuts are tight. Same dealership failed to tighten 4 out of 5 lug nuts on my left rear wheel and I nearly lost my wheel on the freeway. I was lucky no damage had occurred to my Jeep or wheel did not fly off.

The job of a salesman at the dearership is not to inform customers about the cars that they sell but to get you inside, so their manager can sell you a car.
They barely know the models they sell, let alone the features of each model. And they certainly wouldn't know anything about modifying a vehicle. They've probably only worked there a week and most of them won't be there in three months.
Don't set your expectaions so high. The sales departments and the service departments are pretty low on the list of places to find out information about your vehicle.

It may be worth replacing drive shafts on that jk if you weigh the cost of lifting one yourself. Just a thought. At least you have jp on your side guiding you.
I break stuff.

the dealerships know one thing.......sales mean money. the only thing i like about the dealerships is the parts dept. (sometimes ya gotta bite the bullet). forget about the service bay, those guys could care less about your jeep (git em in, git em out).
I work to support my Jeep
