My daughter had to have this 1994 grand cherokee, 4.0. Nice rig, now the trans is doing some weird confused shifting thing between 1 & 2.  The trany shop wants 2K to fix it, it's not worth it.  I'm thinking 5 speed manual for a possible cheeper fix and longer lasting. I hate to scrap this thing and loose bucks....Any ideas to help me out?

I don't know if this applies to your situation or not but I had a shifting problem right after I had a remote starter installed. It turned out that a plug connector under the dash came loose or undone when they were installing it. Once a good connection was made,all was well again. It might be worth a shot.
