I know a person who has had an old scrambler, and currently has a TJ. With no lift whatsoever, he fit 31's on both, no rubbing. Neither of us can see why that would work with the CJ and TJ, but not the YJ, which I have. So...should I try out the 31's, or follow JP's guide that says that won't work...but then, says that won't work on TJ's either.

i think the backspacing on the stock wheels has a lot to do with it. i would probably go with a 30-9.50 if you want a little more ground clearance.

if jp's guide says it doesnt work than dont try it, they dont put false info up. you can try it, it probly wont work but you can always do some fender trimmming!

My '02 TJ has 31's on it no lift at all and no rubbing. On factory rims.

jp's guide is a genral guide for absolutely no rubbing or contact. that doesn't mean they wont work, a little rubbing is only annoying to some people, it hurts nothing..
If JP said they fit, we assume theres no rubbing, then when ya find they rub ya decide jp was wrong and don't know what they're talkin about... it's like this...
