I just made a purchase. I recieved a 1982 CJ8 Scrambler. The frame from the back of the cab to the tail is shot gone completely along with most of the lower body. The 258 is in good working order at well as the automatic trans and the T-case. The uppers are in great condition meaning the dash and all components the glass the hardtop the front window frame the hood and the front end of the frame from the back of the cab forward. Now with this purchase I also recieved a c101 frame that is in perfect shape. What I am asking today is maybe for a few ideas and a steer in the right direction. is there anything that can be done with what I have to start with?????? Any help or suggestions would be great...

I'd forget about the Commando and start looking for a Scrambler frame and body tub. You can get a new custom frame for under 2k. Olympic 4x4 in Snohomish WA might have a frame and a tub. They are a jeep only wrecking yard.

Thanks for the insight.. I was thinking of cutting and welding as it seems the front an the back of these frames are the same width. Didn't know if anyone had tried something like that? Great website though thanks for the info...
