I have a 1995 LT1 (350) from a Firebird in my '92 XJ, it's a tight fit. I had to install the 4L60E trans to keep it smog legal in my state. Hood clearance will be tough unless you're open to cutting a hole in it for the air cleaner. My LT1 breaths from the front, so I didn't have that problem. Keep your tires to 33's or smaller or your axles won't survive for long, I run Dana 60s. The most expensive part will be the cooling system, at least $1K if you do it right. BeCool aluminum radiator and two 10" and one 11" electric fans from Spal. Don't forget to use relays on each fan and install diodes to stop the back feed into your harness from the fans spinning after you turn off the engine. If you don't do the cooling system right, then all will be for nothing. Look for at least 3200 CFM combined airflow at best conditions to keep it running cool.
