Saw this on another forum. Thought some might be interested in doing this mod themselves. Save money and keep your cog low.

that is an awesome  write up... why is it, every time I think I have an idea, someone else already done it?!

nice, we now I know it can be made to work, I was looking pretty close at the fenders and inner fenders while working on some brackets a while back, I had a different idea on the inner fender though we'll be seeing how that turns out...,

guess what my next project is gonna be now!

they make it look so easy!! What max size tires do you think is possible to squeeze under there with no lift. Theoretically i could fit 33s with what i have now...but that just doesn't sound right...this may be a weekend project for me in the near future!
1998 Wrangler 2.5L 4cyl. 30x9.5 m/t tires, everything else stock, definite work in progress.

i like it, but i do like the look of tube fenders. but my question is with raising the fender, wont it not line up with the bottom anymore? they dont show any pictures showing that part.

I just had the opportunity to check out a DIY get up...
I gotta tell ya, i walked up on this thing and what caught my eye was the homemade rockers,(what I was looking for was a exterra and a MDX) I honestly didn't notice the first time by that it had the fenders raised!  heres the first pic I snapped with noticing the fenders... sorry bout the lighting in the pics, it was 11:50am in carson, ca.

hers some shots of the raised rear and what they cut out of the fender well...

shots here are the right and left underside of the front. the hacked off the brackets and cranked in the bolts which re formed the curve.

now under the hood, this has a cold air intake on it so the factory air box was of now concern at all for having room for it..

the box under the master cylinder was left out along with the washer fluid bottle... unless I missed it, which I doubt cuz  i was curious as for what to do about it when i start my project... they put in a cheasy strap to brace the inner fenders..

heres what I walked right by! eyes wide shut...'

I just started my fender project today, I'll get some pics up tomorrow...

it looks worse than a 5.5" lift on 31" tires with the half bolted up fender raised over my 34's.

Got to love the federal compressed schedule. Let me know if you run into any problems.

so far there's nothing hard about it at all, I'm not sure I'm gonna redrill the holes, as it sits i just moved the fender up to the next hole, the top of the fender sits a 1/2" above the body line, I can deal with that for the enormous amount of extra space for the tires... then again, I might just drill em so it doesn't stand out. it's a full 4" up front or redriling will be 3.5", the rear will only gain 3" cuz thats as far as the flare can be moved up..

I'm gonna try and put my easer bottle under the master cylinder.

well, heres a couple pics, between playing with the kids and putting along on the fenders I have one side done...

my mock up... big difference!

I had to fix a couple holes, the air gun didn't notice the bolt wasn't gonna budge.

ya can see the holes I redrilled and a bracket I modified. the front of the fender I took out a whoe entire bracket, I'll throw in pic of that later, It didn't make it to the photobucket.
