looking for a decent way to add some power without going crazy (big) money, does anyone have a jet chip in a 05/06 tj? the reason being hypertech doesnt make a tuner for those years, and jet chip is the only one i could find. if you do which chip do you have stage1, stage2? do you run a low temp thermostat, do you remember where you got the thermostat? is it even a big deal, i already have a cat back with intake, thanks for any input

hmm, well I guess we can't drill ya about gears cause ya only have 31's and a 6spd?.... unless it has 3.08's in it. you'll feel like a 20hp (yep, exagerated a bit)increase if ya goto a 4.10 with and auto and 3.73 with the six speed running 31's
one of my buddies got a jet stage 2, I can still keep up though he can burn rubber and all I can do I squall em for a second.

ya, darn still can't pick on ya, the 3.73 isn't bad with the 31's 4.10's are a bit better though..LOL

The stage II is tunning for premium fuel only. It's intended purpose is to compliment other engine changes, ie non-stock engine.
The stage I is for stock engines. It too is for premium fuel, but will also work for 87 octane.
You'll likely only see 3-4 hp gains with the stage I on 87 octane.
You may approach 10 hp for the stage II on a 60 degree day with premium fuel at a cost of 20-30% less fuel economy.
You'll also run the risk of problems down the road with the computer setting O2 and misfire diagnostic trouble codes. This seems to be more prevalent with the Jet chips than Hypertec but Hypertec does it also.
Jeep engineers purposefully back off the maximum power to give the best in performance, drivability, economy and durability.
The gains you'll get will cost you more than the cost of the chip.
You've already spent money on intake and exhaust. And you're still not happy. You won't be any happier after spending another $300.
It's a Jeep, accept it for what it is, a great off-road vehicle. And isn't, a high performance road car.

That's why my "other" truck is a Lightning. I've never owned another Ford and will never own another Ford. And I will never get rid of this Ford.
I'm a GM truck guy, but they don't compete in either the "jeep" market or the "fast truck" market.
There see, I've accepted GM trucks for what they are.

ok ok wait one minute, that video im sorry but i have a buddy with a turbo disel chevy 1500 94' and we have done a very simalar run. two be exact the first one ended up just like that, the second after he spooled up his turbo there was like a freakin rocket in that thing all of a sudden, the dodge probably wasnt spooled up but it was still good to see. lol

Hey Erik -
I'm interested in your opinion.
What were your expectations that you had for the intake and cat back exhaust system before you purchased them?
Did those expectations get set by what you read about the products?
Do you feel like you got the suggested performance gains?
And, what performance gains do you think were suggested?

hmmm on the intake i would say my expectations were to gain some all around power, as for the cat back well just a little rumble.
the intake most defenitly i got what i expected and more, the cat back though well as i did say above all i was looking for was the rumble, however i would say the exhaust put me what it seemed to be about stock performance maybe a little bit more but not much.
i dont think i got a the suggested performance gains but hey as you said its not a lighting, i just want reasonable power and its not 500hp im lookin for i just want a bit more without doin a V-8
