a friend of mine wants to sell a 1978, 2500 series suburban. its got a 350 with a sm465 transmission, np 205 t-case. and dana 60's front and back. he's asking $450 and says it runs and everything works. is this too old to use for a jeep build? will i be wasting money on rebuilding everything? would it be better to look for newer? any advice is welcome.

If you're into full size axles (width). The 205 is big and heavy, so no on the TC. Maybe the block if it's a 4 bolt main, but not the heads. Yes on the SM465.
