I am working through a restore on a 1985 CJ7. Not looking for a rock-climber but a nice jeep for fun. I have gone through the enginge, transmission and rear-end and have fixed or replaced all. What is next - body or interior(including heating controls, heater core and guages)? Any help would be appreciated. I plan to drive it for the next few months and then when it gets cold give to a guy to keep in his shop over the winter and do one or the other.

I'm kinda new to Jeep's also. I have had my 93 for about 9 months now. Once I was sure it was going to be my daily driver I did a tire/wheel upgrade. But the first "Mod" I did was a spray-in (I actually used a roller) bed liner. Not that though. I had in done begining to end in one day. The hard part is striping the interior out. Didn't need any special tools but make sure you have a good set of torx sockets. One other pointer.......WEAR GLOVES!!!! That stuff is hell getting it off your hands. I like the way it came out. No more vacume to clean it out. I just pull the drain plugs and grab a garden hose.
