Wow, your slams on Commandos were harsh! And, a real man would rather go Commando than wear a banana hammock any day. Kidding aside; I’ll concede late model 70 -73 Commandos were never sexy and were Bulldog ugly stock but at least they listened to us and gave us our V8s that carried over into the last of the CJ7s. To bad Jeep no longer have the balls to give us what we want now.
Commandos still have their cult like followers just like we love our Harleys. Why is it the first thing you here about Commandos is how ugly they are? Nobody ever argued against that but they are a good platform for a great build. Wheel base, V8 and easy to get parts even today. Yes they have their room for improvement just like every other stock Jeep; even 35 years of Jeep production later. I’ll send pics of mine when I am finished and I’ll bet you will say you have seen your 1st sexy Commando daily driver.
