Sent a meesage to jp's staff a few weeks ago and got no response. internet pics show limited work done. can't find back issues or how to get them. have seen a few homeade highline hood jobs, but nobody posts relocating inner fender components. does anyone on here know who owns the jeep in question so i could get pics. or email me at sleepsontoilet@yahoo.com

the owner is mentioned in a recent jp print, the one with the red tj on the cover and the july? issue cheap tire clearance. if I remember correct, I'll see if I can find it in the pile..
I havent seen many inner fender kits either. the rig does have limited mods, new fiber hood, trimmed rear body panel and flares, longer lower rear arms...

Yup I owned it, built it and still own the jeep. So you want to see how I built the brackets to relocate the items that were on the fenders? I can take some pics of it. anything in specific you want to see. by the way there are some pictures of some of the brackets in the March 05 Jp.

fuses, battery, basic underhood components that bolt fenders. anything special done to rear. I have read the article online, cant seem to get ahold of it in person. curious if a dana 44 would rub the tank. is the track bar still flipped. another article noted that you'd upgraded to 44's. how did that affect your mods. the pics may be too large to upload on here. my email is sleepsontoilet@yahoo.com thanks again

I can take care of any picture posting that ya can't get to work,
I'm also interested in the things that couldn't be seen or wasn't mentioned... seems the rear d44 was donated by a isuzu if I remember right.
thanks for the responce sernevimons...

So I forgot my memory card at the office last night, as a result I don't have any pics to show you today. Really sorry about that. I got home, took the camera out and nothing.
The rear axle is an Isuzu Dana 44 and it does have some rubbing issues, but only very, very minor ones. The diff cover just barely rubs the front of the gas tank skid plate just a hair during full compression. Not enough to cause any damage to either part.
The other issue is a result of the track bar bracket. The Dynatrac axle brackets are awesome and well worth the money, but I am betting that they are designed with a lifted jeep in mind. As a result the rear track bar axle mount is an inch or two higher than the factory piece. This means that again during full compression the track bar (which is the flipped stock track bar) rubs part of the top of the gas tank skid plate. Now I could fix this, and I have thought of adding a triangulated 4-link rear to loose the rear track bar all together, or building a flatter rear track bar, or trying to lower the axle end track bar mounting location, but so far the problem seems to have self-clearanced to the point that it is not really an issue anymore.
Both of these issues are a result of me trying to have the axle as far back as possible. If it were a stock Dana-44 in the stock location none of this would be an issue. And I think you could still fit 35s with a combination of some trimming of the tub sheet metal and limiting the up-travel with lower bump stops.
I will take some pictures as soon as I can.

Pictures: first you can see my inner fender liners made of Goodyear rubber intended to be a pond liner (Cappa calls them diapers!, ehh whateva!).

Here you can see the 4wheelersupply battery box with the Optima on its side. Between the battery box and the fire wall is the fuse box and computer. these have rubber flap to protect them from too much mud sorry they are hard to see. the bracket originates on some studs that are intended for the inner fender/stock battery shelf.
here are both sides with the fender liners down. most of the brackets for the light duty things (air box, and washer fluid reservoir) were made with steel from the hardware store, I used both some platesteel, and a bit of square tubing, the MIG from Hobart (still running strong after all theses years) and assorted drills and taps. once built the brackets are bolted to the frame and the coil buckets and shock towers.

here you can see some detail of the 1.5inch tubing I used to support the battery and battery box. also the small square tubing going up to the fuse box.
So its hard to see the brackets well, but I don't really think there is one correct way to build them. A welder helps A LOT, and if you build these things beefy then you don't have to worry about them.
Please ask any questions and I'll try to clear them up.
Ohh also moving the rear axle back wards may have caused the rear springs undue stress. The Jeep seems to bottom more than it used to, I wonder if the springs are not starting to collapse

right on, thanks for the info, I'm still digesting it..
have ya considered the nth stinger for the rear? I have one on my rubi, no more squat when ya stomp on the gas either, in reverse it squats a little though. for the stock suspension, the ful traction short arm tri arm would probably be great to get rid of the track bar in the rear....
