All- Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My 2000 2.5L TJ has just been lifted (4.5" RE Super Flex, SYE, Tom Woods CV drive shaft). I also took all the carpet out in preparation for my upcoming wheeling trip and installed a winch (only electrical change was running the power wire to the battery).
Before any of these mods were done my hazards were not working.
Since these mods were completed my brake lights are no longer working.
I've checked all the fuses and they appear to be fine.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Best, Mike

In case anyone else has run into this problem. There is a brake light switch or a switch sometimes referred to as a stop lamp switch. This controls you brake lights and cruise control. If your cruise control isn't working this may be the part you need to fix it.
It is located at the top of the brake peddle under the dash. (You do not need to remove the dash to change this part)
Just lay on the driver side floor and pull the wire harness out of the switch then rotate the switch counter clockwise and it should pop right out.
The part is not serviceable so you'll need to just get one from your parts store. The switch cost $21+tax at schuck's.
Hope this helps anyone who's brake lights are out.

Agreed, any thoughts on what may be keeping my hazards from working?
Thanks for the help.

I haven't check the flasher unit.
I'll have to look into that.
The signals do work. but you can mess them up by moving the hazard switch on top of the column.
ex. the left turn signal will be flashing normally then if you move the hazard switch a little then the left turn signal will start flashing rapidly. click, click, click, click, click. Rather than the normal click.... click.... click....
If I have the hazard switch in the proper off position then the signals work fine. If the hazard switch is slightly pushed to the left then the blinkers don't work properly.
No matter what the Hazard lights don't work.
Thanks for all the help, I'll look into that flasher unit. Probably another non serviceable part that needs replacing.
