Huge fluid leak!!!

My Jeep has started dropping a ton of anti freeze. There is a hose that comes out of the firewall, passenger side, where the heater is. It doesn't go anywhere. It's only about 3 maybe 4 inches long and 90s down. It is only about 1 inch in diameter. In the last week this hose has started spewing all the fluid out. The jeep did'nt have a resevoir when I got it. I put one in and everything was good for about a month. Now all of a sudden it is draining all the fluid in a day. what is this hose and what can I do to fix this problem

im guessing a heater core.  is there another hose above it or under it going into the firewall?

i think the hose you're talking about is the vent drain. if it's right by the heater lines, it'll look like the coolant is coming from it. i'm thinking the same as MadXj, it might be your heater core, or one of the hoses going to it.

Little more info if it helps. To the right of the battery is two hoses, one on top of the other, both the same size as the one I am talking about. This one is under the battery. I figured heater to but not sure becouse the the other two hoses, I would asume are for the heater. If it's a vent what is making it spew. Collant is getting expensive now it 100 plus.LOL

its most likely the heater hose or the core.

Sounds like your condisate drip pan is catching fluid leaking from the heater core or heater hoses.

Do you have AC? Is it a TJ?

Replacing the heater core is a big job, and if you have AC, you'll have to evacuate and recharge the AC system.

So what's the fix on it?

probably a new heater core.
get a presure test done to help find out where the coolant is coming from for sure.

Ok cool. That's what I figured. Where can I get a preasure test and what's the chances of bypassing it untill it gets a little cooler so I'm not baking in a box for hours at 115 degrees.

You can just bypass the heater core. But make sure that your water pump, thermostat housing or intake manifold has a bypass provision. Some designs use the heater core as the bypass for the enging cooling. The engine must have a bypass or it will not circulate when the thermostat is closed.

If you're not sure, then just couple the two heater hoses together in the engine compartment and secure it out of the way. If you know it has a bypass then you can just remove the heater hoses and plug the takeoffs.

It's not a problem as long as I get to Nogales by noon on monday.
