I was wondering if anyone had any dyno sheets they could post.

Basically I am wondering what rpm peak torque is acheived, Ive heard 1800??

same for horsepower...a dyno would be great but specific info works just as good =)

Here is something for you to look at that answers your question.

This is not an endorsement. In fact, it is just the opposite. There is a lot more to the picture that is not explained in these dyno numbers.

You should be looking at gearing changes now that you have your new tires, not engine power. A gear change is a real mechanical advantage that you can feel.

There is no substitute for propper gearing.

x's 2.

I generally try for 2200+ @65mph
the peak tourque range is more like 2200-4000 rpm which is what makes it such a good engine for the jeep.

Im not worried about upgrading power I was just curious to see where the powerband and torque curve sits so i can monitor it while im wheeling and such. ftgiles that is EXACTLY what I was looking for.  Thanks so much!  gearing is also on the list. the list which is getting very long, welcome to the world of jeeps eh?

I wouldn't say you should be worried about more power, but you should be thinking about it.

I'm sure in the last week you've felt the negative affects of mechanical advantage.

Just trying to stress the importance of propper gearing. There are lot's of guys that tire up and then go on the search for engine hop ups without ever considering the gears or underestimate the affects of propper gearing.

The difference between a gear change and a chip change is huge. And for the price of a chip, well, that would almost pay for one diff.

And then add in an intake system, header, and a cat back. All that will cost more than gearing and not produce anywhere near the performance.

Yeh after reading your other post "JK throttle response" I won't even consider all that crap. Ill go with gearing any day. I can certainly feel the difference between the stock tires and the 33's but its nowhere near as bad as when i went from stock to 33's on my pathfinder. That stupid thing wouldn't even turn the tires on a hill in 4 high, I had to use 4-lo 100% of the time. I hear ya, thanks.

I had 33x10.50 instead of 33x12.50 and 4.56 gears. It was fine and probably the same as stock, performance wise. But if I did it again I would do 4.88. Especially with 12.50 tires.

I was actually going to ask that question next, what gearing you would work the best with 33x12.50's. Thanks again, looks like ill get 4.88. Im gonna look into some axles too, you think d44's are good enough or should i run a d44 front and ford 8.8 rear?? lockers in both of course.
