Is there anyone running beadlocks on a daily driver or rig that are balanced or can they be balanced?

Thanks. They look good. How you like the maxxis crawlers?

AEV's are legit street wheels. They may not be the best looking but they're ok. Unlike almost every other aftermarket wheel, they are hub centric wheels. That means they align on the hubs and don't use acorn lug nuts to center them.

The crawlers are nice off road and not so bad on road but if it was a daily driver it would eat my tires up.

I drive it everyday but 1/4 mile to work and I could drive on the dirt or make a trail.

That's awesome to drive only a 1/4 mile to work.  I have to drive 30 miles one way.  But then again I don't want to live within a 1/4 mile of an airport.

If you are a 1/4 mile from work, why not walk?

I'd run beadlocks on the street, why not? Like a cop is really going to know that they arn't 'street legal'... and as long as it's a legit wheel why wouldn't it balance?

So it's not a Jeep... sue me... it's still faster!

I'm daily-driving a JK 30 miles one way with AEV beadlocks and 35-inch BFG MT KM2s. I have ZERO wheel balancing weights and it drives perfect. In my opinion you are wasting your time and money putting wheel weights on a mud tire. You would have to balance it after every off-road outing to make it even close to right. Really...I used to balance tires for a living. Of course there are some exceptions to the rule, but these exceptions include tires that need a pound or more of weights and aren't really very good street tires anyway (bias-plys...Bogger, TSL,...)

lol the other option is to mount them and run them with no balance? I did once see in a magazine you know in the back between the love pheremones ad and the male enhancements ad an ad for ceramic wheel balancers that mount between the rim and the hub. But if you order those make sure and go for the free samples of the other two aformentioned products.

I'm not kidding! I really don't bother balancing my tires anymore. I mount them with no balance. Only certain brands give me any issue. I currently have about 5,000 miles on the 35s on the JK. I put 10,000 on a set of Dick Cepek Fun Countrys on beadlocks, another 3,000 on 49-inch IROKs on beadlocks, and plenty of others.

When I mounted tires, I could put a mud tire on the machine, add weights and make it perfect, then hit the dirt and spin the tires (knocking off a few small chunks in the tread) and they would be off balance again. Like I said, its a waste of time and money to balance a mud tire, or any tire that goes off-road for that matter...unless it's a crappy tire that's off by like a pound or more. Most good-quality radials need less than a few ounces. And with a mud tire, you are not going to notice that on your Jeep... Maybe in a sports car. But not a Jeep on muds.

And ya know what's funny. I bet most of you have out of balance tires and don't even know it. When you air down, sometimes the tire will slip on the wheel. This will mean the weights are in the wrong place! Don't believe me? Put a pen mark on the tire and onto the bead of the wheel before your next trail outing, preferably one where you air down quite a bit for sand or rock. Then check it out the end of the day and let me know what you see.
