I have a 1980 CJ 5 with a 6/258 motor with a Carter carb and I need the clip that holds the linkage to the carb , the clip snaps around the linkage rod and the carb and the petal snap into the clip . Can anyone help ? I know this clip has to be out there somewhere but Jeep doesn't seem to care about any thing over 15 years old.

did you ever find that clip you were looking for i have the same problem now and i cant find this clip anywhere

make a double loop in the middle of a paperclip, use a small zip tie to secure the ends to the rod....
or slip a vacuum hose over the linkage rod and slide it up over the clip ends to secure it..
some auto parts stores have the clips
