Good evening gentlemen...
I have a 99' Jeep grand cherokee laredo as my daily driver... I'm starting to get the itch of switching back to a Wrangler. I've owned 3 sofar, and kick myself everytime I think about the switch. The JGC is nice, but to me rides too much like a car. Its got the 4.0, which has enough power for whatever I want to do w/ it. I was talking to one of my buddies about this, and he wants to sell his TJ, and made me a offer thats hard to refuse. His is a 97 Sahara edition, 4.0 liter, 5 speed. Black, hard and soft top, 57000 miles, new stereo, tires and rear-end... all for $9000 (EXCELLENT condition). He says its mine if I want it, and he's not in a hurry to get rid of it, but he needs a pickup truck for around the house. The only thing I'm a little apprehesive about is switching back to manual tranny. 1 of the 3 wranglers I've had previously was manual...the rest were automatic. The manual tranny (1989) seemed to be more of a headache, and also put a dent in my pocket for repairs. How are the manual transmissions in the TJ's? No major problems like they had w/ the peugot? What are everyones opinions? Make the switch? Sound like a good deal?

Why not keep both of them??? Money should be no issue!!
I'd keep the grand until I found the wrangler I exactly want. Good Luck.

I bought my wife a 2007 Cherokee and after we drove it for awhile we wished we would have went with a Wrangler. So we bought a 2002 Sahara with the 4.0 5 speed. So far we absolutely love the TJ. This is my first manual I've ever owned and I love it. I would get the TJ and keep the Cherokee too.
