will a 4.0 throttle body fit my 2.5 and will it help my 2.5 any power wise?thanks

i'm pretty sure it will fit. i know in the catalogs, the replacement ones and the spacers are pretty much interchagable. as far as power gains, you might consider using a spacer and a throttle body bored out to 62mm.

Throttle body spacers create a swirling affect that better atomizes fuel, producing more power, according to the people that make them.
Funny thing is, there is no fuel in the intake manifold of a multiport fuel injected engine. So how could it better atomize fuel?
Throttle body spacers do have a slight affect on performance for an engine with throttle body injection, because there is fuel in the manifold.
Tests show throttle body spacers have no affect on performance when used with multiport fuel injection. In fact, some tests show a decrease in performance because of the turbulence that is created, decreasing air flow volume into the engine.
They do make a cool whistling sound though. I actually read on a forum, a guy said he could really hear the engine performing better after he installed one. It's really sad.
It's like putting a playing card in the spokes of your bicycle. Makes it sound fast.

not a problem ftgiles. i don't have one.....wasn't even really considering getting one. i think that the throttle bodies are the same size on the 4.0 and 2.5. i know alot of other parts match up (oil filter, air filter) maybe he just needs to get the larger diameter throttle body.

If you don't do something to take advantage of the increased capacity, a bigger throttle body won't make any difference. Make changes to the engine first, and then match those changes up with the matching intake and exhaust changes.
This is off the top of my head, but close. A 58mm throttle body will flow over 500 cfm. A 4.0L motor opperating at 100% efficiency will flow around 380 cfm at 5000 rpm. Stock engines are closer to .75% efficiency. That means the throttle body is already 150% bigger than the engine could ever use, and 200% bigger than a stock engine uses.
A stock 4.0L never even uses 200 cfm below 4000 rpm.

lol......where's my duct tape? my heads about to explode. i know what yer saying. maybe look into a good header, smooth after market intake, cat back setup.
