Hello, I have a 2000 Jeep Cheroke Sport 4x4 with a 2" lift, still running stock tires on it. I have experianced the death wobble twice with it. Once while i was pulling a trailer, and another time with the jeep by itself. This is happening on the left side only. Ive been reading several forums, and everything seems ok, except when i turn the left front tire while the jeep is in 2H, the axle is turning along with the front driveshaft. The other wheel is not turning when i do this. I have seen on several forums that the axle may be bound up. I dont know if this could cause the death wobble. Could someone please explain to me, if this could be the cause, and what do i need to do to repair it, since this is a daily driver. I have also tried putting the transfer case in netural and the same thing happens. Thank You

jack up the front end and pull/push at the top of the tire, if it moves in and out you may be looking at new kingpins. when you spin the tire, and the front drive shaft turns, does it turn freely? maybe greese that. could be the universal is dry, causing it to bind up.

they turn all the time even when in 2h when rolling. ust don't have power from the t-case. it has a open differential and only turn one tire, the one with the least resistance, same with the rear, so... if the don't have a LSD or selectable locker the (all) vehicles a re 2wd in 4wd. only one rear turns and one front.
if you've checked all the joints and bearings get a new stabilizer on it.

Ok, today I greesed everything in the front end. Everything seems fine. I guess Ill give it a week or so of driving to see if the death wobble comes back. Any other suggestion of what i need to check, or lube up?

like mud said, check the linkages, they should be solid. if everything checks out, put a new steering stabilizer on it
