ok so i put it all in the 2" springs front and rear 1.75 bb front 3/4 bb rear ,transfer case drop down, teraflex flex arms up and lower front and rear, track bar bracket rear with teraflex trackbar and also a front track bar from teraflex.springs and shocks ome. It drives great until about 50mph when it starts vibrating. Also the alignment is off a 1/4 turn to the left and i think my toe is off. i was expecting it to be off.also i put a drop down pitman arm on. What do you think is causing the vibration the drivehaft is pretty much a straight shot to the pinion.

If the control arms are stock length, then your caster is way off. Probably close to zero. You want around 4 degrees positive. If your front track bar was not lowered at the frame end, then your drop pitman will cause bump steer. If you didn't adjust the toe, it's probably off by .75" or more. That's a lot.
It's very easy to adjust your toe and then center your steering wheel after your toe is set.
None of these things will cause vibration, just bad handling. Most likely the vibration is comming from your rear drive shaft. You need a SYE for 3-4" of lift. A transfercase drop just isn't going to be smooth.

Would you change the pitman arm back to stock? why are the vibrations coming in at 50mph? i thought the tires were out of balance at first but doubt it.the teraflex aRMS ARE adjustable up to 3/4 of an inch. what would you do? sorry about my typing im a few pbrs deep long week on the ship

real quick since I didn't read the whole thing...yet... your pinion angle with a standard 2 joint shaft needs to match the output angle... not straight to the pinion which will cause a vib.

if you have a double cardan shaft... it needs to look like this...

Is there any fabrications that need to be done with a fabtech 6" high crawler lift. Just recently purchsed a 99 tj. I am out of the country right now so havent had a chance to even look at it. Had a friend test drive it and pick it up for me. All i know is that it has a 4 in lift, pro com es9000 shocks, its running 33's on it. The guy was not sure of the axles. My plan is to either go dana 60 rear and 44 front, or 44's for both. I want to run 35's. I am looking to take this jeep out to Moab and the rubicon trails, but also just local trails as well. I want something that I can drive daily but also conquer some of the tougher trails. What are recommendations.

Disregard about the fabtech lift. I think I have found what I am going to go for. Found a OME 4" trailblazer lift. I will go with this with a 1" body lift with some gen-right tube fenders. Thats way i will clear 35's. The on-road drive will be good, and I should get a enough flex to conquer some of the trails. I just want to go out and have fun. This way i can go with Dana 44's save a little money. Would it be worth it to spend the money on an over the top steering system.

Just got a 99 TJ 4" lift, 33" tires. Whenever I let off the gas or go over a bump the jeep pulls to the right, what could be causing this.

The most common causes on a TJ are either the track bar has been lowered at the frame end and a drop pitman arm was not installed, or more likely, a drop pitman arm was installed and the track bar was left in its original position at the frame end.
The track bar and the drag link must stay as close to parallel as possible or you'll get bump-steer.

What do you guys think of this setup. http://www.4x4groupbuy.com/store/lift-stage-p-2171.html With this setup how big of tires could I go. I plan on getting gen right tube fenders. Also with this setup how will both onroad and off road be. I am looking to be able to go out to the Rubicon Trails for jeepers jamboree. Let me know about this setup and what else would I have to purchase. Thanks.

I just got back from Easter Jeep Safari and had the chance to see both the Gen Right and the new Trex/TNT tube fenders. The Trex fenders are quite a bit nicer, both quality (no exposed welds) and over all style. They are cut back further for a bigger wheel well opening.
You can run 35's with a 2" lift and the front and rear Trex fenders.
The only drawback, which is small, is that the battery is tipped at a angle because of how close the inner fender is to the firewall. This requires the use of an Optima/Gel type battery that can be mounted at a severe angle.
Click here for the Trex fenders.

Is the 3" Short arm flex system by Rock Krawler any good. It says it comes with a transfer case drop but want to stay away from that. Pairing this lift with a 1-2" body lift and a MML how would it handle onroad. What would need to be done to not drop the transfer case. This lift also comes with no shocks. What shocks are recommended. The jeep will be my DD but also want to do some trips out west. Probably no extreme rock crawling but some of the harder trails. The jeep has 4" of lift now and handle good or so i am told. I have not had a chance to look at the jeep since I am out of the country. So this jeep might have an SYE and cv driveshaft already on it.

Thanks for the info - I am also considering lifting my TJ Rubicon. Figured 33" inch tires the most sensible. Looking at a Rubicon Express Long arm extreme duty kit for $2,800 bucks. Regearing too?? Maybe I should settle for a body lift? Criminy!

i have had 2, 6" short arm kits that both failed and were miserable to drive in my 05 unlimited rubi. i now have a 6" rockkrawler long arm and am completly satisfied and running 35's no problem. it ain't cheap but worth every dime.
