with the extra load, I'd go with the hd for sure. there are also ome spring combos to keep it level instead of the rake jeeps have with stock suspension.

run with 4.5" backspaced 8" wide wheels with 33/12.5" rubber or narrower if thats what you're after.

stock moab wheels work for tires upto 11.5 wide. I run 12.5's without a problem tho there are curcumstances.

search for dpgoffroad... theres a link on one of the pages of this thread.. if you read through the thread, you'll find all the answers you could have, still I'm more than happy to give it up.. talk to dirk and don't let him talk you into the other coils besides ome he sells.... lol. the ultimate kit is a good way to go.

who didn't have the springs?

a 1.75" bb up front with 2" bumpstops is gonna make for a bad ride on a semi rough road and even speed bumps in a parking lot...

what size tire are you planning on?
if your just going to a 31" use 22.5" long shocks without extended bumpstops, with the 1.75" bb that'll give you the best possible balance.

33 need 2" bumpstops,
32's need 1" bumpstops or a 1" bl.

here's a tire size and shock length/bumpstop guide.....

please remeber that bumpstop compress fully also, so shocks can still possibly bottom out before the bumpstops fully compress with some of the measurement I'm listing here... for example 25.5" long shocks with 2" stops... things need to be double checked and adjusted, I can tell you what I have listed will work with out checking tho some also push the limits.

the bumstop length I have listed is the amount needed to keep the shocks from bottoming out.... the tire size listed is simply what fits with that amount of bumpstop.

adding a body lift makes room for that much more tire height.. for example highline fenders add 3.25" of clearance and fit 36-37" tires with 2" bumpstops.

stock length shocks are 21" up front and 19" rear. (fully extended)

shock length     bumpstop required        maximum tire size       lift height

21-22.5"                  0"                           31's                           0-2" sa/bb

22.5-23.75"               1"                           32's                           2-3" sa/bb

23.75-25.5"               2"                           33's                           2.5-6" sa

25-26"                    2.5"                         34-35"s                        4-6" sa

26-27"                    3"                           35                             4.5" la

27-29                    3.5"                         35-36"                        5.5" la

*sa (short arm)
*la (long arm)
*bb (budget boost)

now... bumpstops main job are to keep springs from over compressing, shocks from dammage due to bottoming out, and lastly... tires off of the fenders,

throw your 2 cents in here ftgiles, I know you've messed with bumpstops also...

I've seen the RCD, tho I don't hear much about it. I'd say it's comparable the the 5.5" re trilink system.

way taller than I'm interested in....

so my best bet would be 1" bumpstops 23.75" shocks if i run the same BB's, 2" springs and a 1" bl? Also right now im just running stock rubicon rims and tires till i get the suspesion squared away but i would like to fit 33's.

the 1" bumpstops are to keep the shocks from bottoming out, just so happens that 33" tires fit with a 2" bb and 1" bl.... you don't need a 2"bb and 2" springs. either 2" springs or a 2" bb will do.

what is it that's confusing?
the sa/bb? should I make it say sa or bb?

the sa/la is the same, at the shock length it shows, is the transition where the same length can be used for either long arms or short arms.

I would go the fact that we have been running battle station drills on my ship everyday for the last week and im just tierd! lol but i would make it say sa or bb. I was going to use the bb's to help with heavy accesories and a hard top. Also this list is just to hold me over till i can get an 5.5 re long arm and all the good stuff for it.

yep, as long as you don't plan on using the 2"bb and 2" springs, that'll put you at 4" and needing more parts to make it right.

i was going to us the 1.75 in the front with the 2" springs i figure the 6cycl my fat ass at 6'3" 240ilbs heavt front bumper and oil pan skid plate would keep it well away from 4" of lift. I also I always have at least one other person in the car buming a ride. Still a bad idea to throw the bb on with the 2" springs? O and also a whinch

I wouldn't use more than 1.5" only up front to level the rake, if it's that low in the front.
