I have a 2005 TJ, Automatic.  I have a Fabtech 6" lift so i have the tranny skid plate that came with it. it is starting to leak around the pan gasket so i'm going to pull it off soon, but i'm wondering if any body knows of a deeper pan that i can get that will work with my high skid plate. Also i am a bit confused, right after the lift was installed i started noticing that when you put it in drive or reverse it takes about 1-2 seconds before the tranny engages.  any help?

Why a bigger Pan? Fluid condition. Level? Smell? Look?

Gear size? Tire size? Corrected speedo?

I don't necessarily need a bigger one but i'm going to have to pull it off, change my spedo gears, and i'm wanting to get one that is going to run cooler so i just was wanting an aftermarket one. but i haven't been able to find one...

More fluid won't necessarily run cooler. You would need an aux trans cooler, which would keep the fluid cooler without a new pan.

Your tranny and engine will do goofy stuff if the speed sensor is not accurate (tires/gear changes). That is one of the inputs to the ECU & Transmission Control Unit.

For a Rubi, there is not a speedo gear. It's a tone ring in the tail shaft of the transfer case. Nothing in the tranny for the speed sensor.

The ECM needs to be reprogrammed for your tire/gear changes not a speedo gear change. The speedo gear is only for non Rubi or non 6spd tranny. How's that for a double negative?

Skyjacker offers a deeper pan for '97-'02 models. But that won't help you. Sorry.

Ya might check the fluid level and condition. Also, while you have the pan off, it would be a good idea to install a bung for a temp gauge. Heat is the biggest killer of auto trannys.
