Has anyone moved thier Wrangler seat farther back. I have a 91 Wrangler where my right foot falls asleep since i am too closr to the pedal. I went to the dealer who told me it can't be done for safety issues. I feel this was just a canned answer to avoid law suits. I onlu need an inch or two to make driving more comforable. Is the a aftermarket seat frame for this?
Thanks

Hope someone out there has had the experiance of moving theirs back and would share. Your no the only one who wants more leg room. I must admit though that I have not even looked under the seat yet to see if it is possible. Been too busy fixing/modifing the rest of the Jeep.

i've had the seat's out of my TJ. one thing i noticed ... whatever corner of the seat bracket that a seatbelt attaches to ... they use a much heavier bolt (and i think more re-enforcing under the tub. i had a look at some of the aftermarket brackets on the web, but didn't really see anything appropriate for your YJ. if you do find something, post it. i'm 6'5", so i could definately use the extra space. could you just use a piece of flat stock. bolt the seat to the metal, bolt the metal to the slider mech. can't realy look at one to give you any better than a guess. you could always just drill new holes in the floor and use some chunks of metal as big washers on the backs side

I used angle iron on top of the seat brackets. Then redrilled the holes for the seat track sliders. You'll have to notch the outside one to make room for the lever that lets your seat tip forward. I don't know how far back you want to move it. If you have to get past the roll bar, you can drill the holes for the seat so you move it a half inch or so to the center of the tub. I also put spacers (nuts) under the front to tip the seat back just a little, for more leg support.

i was thinking about that the other day for my tj. Did some one say it was possible for it? i'm 6'4" and only having about 2" on space between the knees and the dash can get uncomfortable.

Yes it is possible with the tj. A company called misch makes what they call a big boy bracket that if I remember correctly allows the seat 4 more inches of rearward movement.
Here's a link: http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?jeep-sid=362&plID=118&partID=13319
As far as one for a yj I am not sure.
