On my cj-7 im getting some weird shackle problems that Im having a hard time solving. With the suspension drooped out I get some pretty good travel, but when I set it all back to ride height the shackles shoot forward to about 50 degrees. The problem is as soon as i start pushing down on the front bumper the shackles bind up and around its own self. What should I do, I cant really switch it to a shackle reversal, but I can move some stuff around to a certain degree.

gm 10bolt front axle, 3.5 inch superlift yj springs (stiff), stock cj shackles, chevy 350

thanks a bunch

its kind of weird, when i installed the springs I set up the shackles to where they were \ on full droop. Then as soon as i put weight on them they folded forwards way to far, and with any more weight on them they flip over themselves and bind.

Im planning on moving the shackle mount more forward, but Im scared that if I put the mount anymore forward the shackles will stay in the \ position with the weight on them.

could boomerang shackles help or should I add a leaf to stiffen the spring more?

Click here and read this. It's information about shackles, shackle length and how they affect spring movement.

well, ya kinda gotta put the shackles in position according to the spring length with a load, the boomerang shackles wont help either if they aren't in the correct position.
