I have a 97 tj 4cyl that has had a problem with cutting out when its the motor is cold.ive replaced the plugs, wires, cap, button, and the crank position sensor.ive let it cut out for about two months now and this week it has started getting worse quick.it is cutting out driveng now.it feels like it misses about once every 10 min.it is going dead if it idles for more than 10 min.it is showing o2 sensors at autozone but my cousen has a haynes repair manual for it and when you turn the ignition 4 times and let the codes show it says something about the o2sensor voltage.im not sure what to do about it.ive been told to take it to the dealership and have them check it and fix any recals.ive heard they have some but from what ive read i cant find any that would cause what mines doing.are there any recals about the motor?im trying to find a vacume leak.my air/heat blows on all the settings at idle but when u have the gas pushed it blows out the defrost only.i can hear a hissing sound when driving sometimes.please help.thank you.

If the check engine light is for o2 sensors, then replace them. 99% of the time your CEL is correct.

The o2 sensor maybe at fault, but it also might be showing the code because something else is wrong....you say it wont idle for more than 10 min.....Is it chugging black smoke out the tailpipe? or does it just quit...no sign of smoke of any color? An engine running rough lower than idle rpm does not have good vaccuum...... Does your check engine light stay on? Have a look under the vehicle see if the wires are still connected to the 02 sensor(s) there maybe 2 sensors ......

Under WOT, there is no manifold vacuum. The vacuum line for your HVAC control has a check valve right off the manifold. Maybe it's worn or missing. The HVAC acting up is not necessarily a sign of a engine vacuum leak.

it just starts ideling lower and either gos dead of idels to 1,000rpm then back to 700rpm.when you first crank it it cuts out everytime.sometimes you can feel it bad and sometimes it just feels like i pull the e-brake an let off or something it feels like somethings holding it back for a sec and then takes off real quick.after you rev it once or twice while its cutting out it will stop but i does it everythime i start it and it takes two trys to start everytime unless the motor is warm.thanks
