YJ Body Mount help?

I've got a '94 YJ Soft top (Don't think the soft top part matters, but hey.)Does anyone know the exact size of the body mount bolts so I can order new ones, or even know a place where I can buy the body mount bolts and maybe even the rubber spacers? I've checked most websites, the closest I came to said there may be some cutting and such required for correct installation...which seems rather odd to me, considering the nature of the replacement parts themselves. I don't see a need for cutting there. Sorry for being long winded.

The bolts get so rusted that the flag nuts just spin inside their pocket when trying to remove the body mount bolt. Then, the body floor needs to be cut to get them out.

The stock bolts are a flange bolt. You can get them at your nut & bolt supplier. Not Home Depot. Look in the yellow pages under Bolt. They are expensive. Maybe 3-5 dollars each.

Body lift kits just send out longer hex bolts (not flange bolts) with washers. You can get them at Home Depot. I think they are grade8.

Dependeing on your plans for your jeep, i would go with a 1 inch daystar body lift. You get new bolts and bushings that have a 1 inch lift. so you dont have to stack spacers.

Okay. The fact that they are flange bolts help; I got some 7/16th bolts, which is the closest I could measure the stock bolts to be, and they just slid in and out. I'm not going to bother with a lift kit though; I'm content with putting 29's on. I don't need any larger, and I can fit them stock.

Cool cool..I was just basing it off of JP's tire chart thing that is now on the main page and was in a past issue. Need to do any cutting or anything for 30's, and do they rub at all?

I've now had 4 YJs, and on each of them, 30's would rub the stock flares going over bumps on the highway and whoops off road.  I didn't trim anything per se, I just let the tire self-clearance the flares as needed.  I always ended up with a little arc taken out of the flare.

Did you sort out the bolts issue?

If the 7/16th bolts slide in and out get a standard 1/2 bolt same length and try that. if that seems way too big then i would bet that the nuts are wasted. If im not mistaken the two bolts above the gas tank are a little smaller. maybe 7/16 and the rest are 1/2. if the nuts are wasted, then you will have to do what ftgiles said. i have one of my bolts go ining all the way up through the floor with some plate around it and a lock nut. its been a while but i remember running into all kinds of pain in the ass problems installing my 1" daystar lift.

Not yet, it's hard to get to it and work on it, as it's 15 miles away from where I live, and it's my only car. I'm wondering though..I may be able to get access to an air gun, and definatly an impact driver. Should I risk using them? The article says no, but it's a whole lot easier to try them than to go get the tools I don't have that I'd need.

Have you already tried to remove some, and they're stuck? Have you already started "rust therapy"? (PB Blaster)

The two center mounts came out easily; front and back not so much. And sort of? "Monkey Wrench" brand lubricant/bolt loosener stuff and WD-40.
