ok so my rear main seal is leaking, is this difficult to replace, or should i take it somewhere to have done? and is there anything else i can try?

How mechanically inclined are you? If you're not comfortable removing a transmission then I would take it to a professional. Besides that it's a pretty straight forward procedure.
So it's not a Jeep... sue me... it's still faster!
